Our mission is to help children from low-income families acquire the necessary skills in academics and social interaction to move successfully through grades K-12 and into adulthood. We do this by providing after school and summer programs which emphasize literacy and community involvement and use the talents of teachers, volunteer tutors, adult caregivers and a variety of local support services.

GECRC End of 2011/2012 School Year's Open House!

On Tuesday May 29, GECRC had the annual end of year open house in the Library and Old Gym of Lincoln Elementary School. GECRC Staff & Volunteers, Parents, & Lincoln Teachers enjoyed watching and viewing what the students made: posters of the year in the library. Then everyone walked to the old gym, where they gathered to watch groups of girls (and one boy) sing with the assistance of Ms.Emily from Anima Children's Choir. A group of boys shared their gymnastic talents. Finally everyone enjoyed a potluck dinner and time to sit back and have conversations with everyone who attended.

Another Great Year at GECRC! Hope to see many volunteers this summer and again towards the end of August as the 2012/2013 school year begins.
