SPELLAPALOOZA!
Come to SPELLAPALOOZA this Friday, March 12 at 7:30 in the Glenbard West High School Auditorium!
Spellapalooza is modeled after an old fashioned spelling bee that pits teams from local organizations and businesses against one another. As a fundraiser for the Glen Ellyn Children's Resource Center, we would love your support.
The mission of the Resource Center is to provide life and literacy skills to low-income households in Glen Ellyn. GECRC provides tutoring at Abraham LIncoln Elementary School in all academic subjects, with an emphasis on educating students for whom English is a second language. We rely on the support of donations, grants and volunteers.
So join us this Friday and cheer on your friends. Following are the thirteen teams signed up so far:
*Abraham Lincoln Elementary School
*Glen Crest Middle School
*Hadley Jr. High School
*The Key Clubs from both Glenbard South and Glenbard West High Schools
*District 41 Central Services
*The Bookstore in downtown Glen Ellyn
*Bells and Whistles Snackery
*Glen Ellyn Jr. Woman’s Club
*First Congregational Church of Glen Ellyn Junior High Youth Group
*First Congregational Church of Glen Ellyn Senior High Youth Group
*The Glen Ellyn Public Library
*A group of women called “Spellin’ for Ellen”
Tickets for this evening of fun and spelling are only $5 and are available before the event at these downtown merchants - Bells and Whistles Snackery, the Renaissance Art Gallery, The Glen Ellyn Bookstore. Tickets will also be available at the door. So come join the fun!
